For the fourth semester visual effects project, I plan on filming a shot of gun firing in slow motion and following the bullet until it slows to a stop in front of the victim. The shot is part of a short film I have written and directed and refers back to one of my first VFX shots I’ve worked on in 2012. The goal was to challenge myself to be as detailed as possible with FX, lighting, and look dev.
What's the big idea?
Storyboard
Beginning Frame: The shot begins with an extreme close up of the handgun. As soon as the gun fires, the camera moves back with the bullet.
Final Frame: The shot ends with the bullet slowing to a halt in front of the victim.
